Medway Kids and Teens Fitness Program
keeping younger ones healthy and building a better fitness for the future.
All too often now we see those awful statistics arise of kids being obese. Time and time again we see it in the papers, news and social media. The battle rages on against this at CrossFit Medway. CrossFit Kids starts as young as 7 years of age and goes right up to adulthood so once the children start they have no need to stop. Our Kids brackets are ages 7-12 and Teens.
A sessions for our younger bracket consists of a 30 min session whereby we warm the kids up before doing a workout. Generally at the end of the session we will do something fun whether it be a game or a fun skill. Our main aims with this bracket is to get our little people moving correctly through movements such as the squat. All weighted movements are done with a PVC pipe focusing on perfect technique. Our Teens session runs for 1 hour and is structured similar to our adults class. The session will start with a warm up before going through a technical piece. This may mean that we do handstand work or light skill work with the bar. We may look at some strength work but never at the point of deviating from good form. The session will finish with some stretching or a relevant cool down. |
